Saltpans explores the rugged Maltese coastline and the artist’s fascination with wide, open, fragmented forms, sinuous lines and a palette that betrays his Mediterranean roots. A passion for blues, greens and vibrant earth colours coupled with subtle combinations of oxides, fused glass and lava present a masterful interplay of hues and textural qualities that characterises the work.
